Welcome to the Yale Club of Australia!

The Yale Club of Australia (YCoA) is an active club - providing our alumni a range of networking and social activities. We are also a point of contact for Yale's visiting academics as well as current and prospective students. 

There are 400+ Yale alumni living across Australia. Given we are more than 10,000 miles from Yale’s New Haven campus (making us Yale’s most distant alumni club), we are acutely aware of the importance of the Club’s role in providing alumni with a local contact and opportunities to meet fellow alumni.

ALUMNI NETWORKS:

The Yale Club of Australia offers a strong network for alumni living or visiting Australia.

We promote all our activities nationally – to ensure local alumni as well as those travelling interstate have an opportunity to take part.

To receive information about Club events, alumni in Australia must send a request to be included on our mailing list.

• ​State Chapter Network: ​We have active state chapters in New South Wales (Sydney), Victoria (Melbourne) and Queensland (Brisbane). 

• ​Wider Australian Alumni Network:​ In 2009, the YCoA initiated the development of an informal Australian alumni network to bring together alumni from significant international universities. This created a wide network of people in which new opportunities for shared national activity take place. This informal network continues to enhance the experience of being a member of the Yale Club of Australia.
  
  In addition to alumni from Yale University, alumni from the following institutions are also included in the network: Brown University, Cambridge University, University of Chicago, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, INSEAD, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northwestern University, Oxford University, University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, Stanford University and​ University College London.

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES:

• New Board Members: If you'd like to nominate for a future position with the YCoA and its Board, please register your interest with the YCoA via email.
   
• New YCoA State/Territory Chapters: If you have the energy and would like to start a state or territory chapter of the Yale Club, please get in contact with us.
   
• Alumni Interviewers: Interviews for Yale College are conducted via the Undergraduate Admissions Office and its local alumni interviewers through the local chapters of its Alumni Schools Committee (ASC).

PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS:

• Young Global Scholars Program for High School Students
  
  The Yale Young Global Scholars Program (YYGS) is an academic and leadership program that brings together outstanding high school students from around the world. YYGS offers two-week sessions on Yale’s New Haven campus, at Yale Centre Beijing in China and in Singapore at the Yale-NUS Campus. Sessions take place during July and August. OTHER ACTIVITIES/INFORMATION:

• Alumni Auditing Program

  The Yale Alumni Auditing Program provides degree-holding Yale alumni and their spouses the opportunity to audit Yale College classes, expand their intellectual interests, and experience the daily life of Yale College. The Yale College Dean’s Office administers the Alumni Auditing Program separately from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. 

• Executive Education Programs:  
  
  Yale School of Management.  Enhance your  leadership and operational skills and network with other high-level executives through a range of education programs.

• Open Yale Courses: 

  Open Yale Courses (OYC) provides lectures and other materials from selected Yale College courses to the public free of charge via the Internet. The courses span the full range of liberal arts disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, and physical and biological sciences.  Each course includes a full set of class lectures produced in high-quality video accompanied by such other course materials as syllabi, suggested readings, exams, and problem sets. The lectures are available as downloadable videos, and an audio-only version is also offered. In addition, searchable transcripts of each lecture are provided. https://oyc.yale.edu/ 

• Yale Online Learning:  
  

  Free and for-credit Yale courses covering topics from game theory to modern poetry are available to undergraduates, graduate students, and the general public.
